Rev. Court M. Fischer
Rev. Court M. Fischer began his appointment at CCUMC in 2015. He originally comes from the Kansas City, Missouri area. His background includes serving as a pastor in United Methodist Churches in the Missouri Conference. Since coming to the Desert Southwest Conference, he served as Wesley Campus Ministry Director at the University of Arizona, and then spent a year working in the Verrado Community.
Pastor Court also has years of service in the business and financial industries. He has also served 2 terms as a local elected community official. Pastor Court graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO with a bachelor’s degree in English and he also holds a Master’s of Divinity degree from Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, MO.
He enjoys playing and watching any and all sports, hunting, fishing, and hiking in the great outdoors. Pastor Court and his family also enjoy competing in BBQ tournaments. More than anything, he enjoys time with his family and friends. Pastor Court brings with him his wonderful wife Suzie, daughter Layla and son Mason.
Mary began her career in Kansas City, Missouri as a singing waitress and jingle singer for radio commercials. Highlights in her career include singing the national anthem for a Diamondbacks baseball game, performing at the home of Senator John McCain and opening for well known entertainer, Chubby Checkers. She also has been a speaker for the national women‘s organization, Stonecroft Ministries, and serves as a volunteer at the Arizona Humane Society. Mary’s love for the Lord has brought her musical talent to hundreds of churches over the years. She shares her heart through her songs and words, preparing God’s people for the work of the ministry.
Carla joined us as Youth Director in 2017 and feels it is her calling to bring Jesus Christ to the youth of today. Carla is a native of South Dakota but has lived in the valley since 2014. In 2000, she and her husband, David, were married and they have 2 daughters; Natalie and Alexa. The VanBockel’s love to spend time together as a family and particularly like to entertain their family that come to town from all over the country. In her free time, Carla loves to spend time with friends, swim, sing, and she is an avid reader, Ken Follett is her favorite author. She also loves to watch football, especially her Minnesota Vikings!
Veronica has served as CCUMC’s Administrative Assistant since 2006. She was born and raised in west Phoenix, where she still lives with her husband and two children. She has a passion for serving others and enjoys serving the members of CCUMC.
Jim has been the organist at CCUMC since 1999. He was born in Ohio and raised in Michigan. He lived in Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale before moving to Phoenix. Jim loves sharing his talent with the congregation on Sunday mornings. He feels that music is the universal language that speaks to us all.
Janice has worked for CCUMC since 1998. She grew up in Ohio and married her high school sweetheart, Calvin. They moved to Arizona, where they raised two sons. She loves spending time with her seven wonderful grandchildren. Janice loves to craft and cook in her free time. She truly enjoys working with the people at CCUMC.
